At first we had the unsubstantiated rumors about an upcoming Galaxy S5 Zoom, then its spec sheet went visible at the GFXBenchmark database, and now a living, breathing person has scribbled those same specs on a sheet of paper, old school as it is. The leak comes from Poland, which lends it some credibility, as Samsung has a huge R&D center near Warsaw, which has leaked quite a few things before.
We don't get phone specs written down with actual pen on actual paper every day, so stop and smell the... ink, reveling in the moment for a while. Other than that novelty, the jotted-down specs coincide with the previous leak, save for the processor. The S5 Zoom is listed with a 1.6 GHz quad-core CPU here, whereas in the previous speculation it is cited with a 1.3 GHz Samsung Exynos 5 Hexa CPU with ARM Mali-T624 graphics. The other confirmed specs are a 4.8" display with HD resolution, and 2 GB of RAM, as well as the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
The new pieces of information that we get are about the design, and the camera. While the shooter is reiterated to be 20 MP - a decent upgrade over the 16 MP unit on the S4 Zoom - it is now added that it will feature 10x optical zoom and Xenon flash. Granted, that's what we have on the current Zoom edition, too, but the source claims that the S5 Zoom will be thinner than its predecessor, and the lens will be "much better hidden in the casing." This is certainly the most welcome change, as last year's hefty camera with phone functions might have turned into a svelte cameraphone this year, hopefully with a much more compact chassis. Now the only thing left is to see actual pics of the design, and some camera samples from the new 20 MP sensor.
